Ethnic GEM, Tito Jackson: From City Hall to Cannabis Innovation

Boston’s first Black-owned downtown dispensary is more than business—it’s a bold statement on equity, culture, and community.

When history looks back at Boston’s business landscape, Tito Jackson will stand out as a trailblazer. As CEO of Apex Noire, the city’s first Black-owned dispensary located in downtown Boston, Tito leads a bold venture that’s more than a business—it’s a statement of ownership, opportunity, and community pride. Apex Noire, a seven-story destination that includes a cannabis dispensary, edible factory, and rooftop bar, is redefining what inclusive entrepreneurship looks like in a rapidly growing industry.

Before stepping into the private sector, Tito made his mark in public service. A former Boston City Councilor for District 7, he served as Chairman of the Education Committee and Vice Chairman of the Government Operations Committee. In 2017, he ran for Mayor of Boston, championing issues that remain urgent today: narrowing the city’s wealth gap, preventing housing displacement, and expanding access to opportunity for all residents.

His career spans more than politics. With over a decade of experience in sales and marketing, Tito advanced to the role of Industry Director for Information Technology within the Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development. His unique ability to bridge government, business, and community voices has made him one of Boston’s most versatile and respected leaders.

Equally important is Tito’s commitment to the next generation. An alumnus of the University of New Hampshire, he continues to give back through mentorship and leadership. He currently serves on several influential boards, including the Boston Ballet, the City of Boston’s Black Men and Boys Commission, the Global Citizens Circle, and the University of New Hampshire Foundation Board.

For Tito, success is about more than personal achievement—it’s about building a legacy. Through Apex Noire and his community work, he is creating spaces where innovation, culture, and equity intersect.

Ethnic Online proudly spotlights Tito Jackson as a leader whose journey embodies resilience, vision, and the power of representation in shaping Boston’s future.
