Ethnic GEM: Mark Brevard

 Mr. Brevard is a graduate from The University of Connecticut. He was employed by Xerox
Corporation in New York City, where he worked for 18 years. During this time frame he
advanced in many positions within the company’s marketing division. He received 6 President
Club Awards enabling him to travel throughout the U.S. and other countries. He was the
number one sales rep. in New York City in his classification on several occasions and
number 5 in the country.

In 2004 Mr. Brevard became the Headmaster of Love Christian Academy in Bridgeport CT.
A position that was to be an interim assignment had become a ten-year career.
Mr. Brevardhas completed classes in Education and Early Childhood at Housatonic College and Abekatraining, Administrative and Curriculum at Pensacola College in Pensacola Fl.

Mr. Brevard has been employed by New England Donor Services for eight years.
He currentlyholds the position as the Director Multicultural Community Outreach.
This position allows himand his team to educate, promote, and spread the missive of the importance of organ and
tissue donation throughout the region focusing on communities of color.

Mr. Brevard serves as the chair of the Social Equity Steering Committee for New England Donor Services.
He is a member of Donate Life America, and serves as a Board Member for Donate Life CT.
He is also a committee member of the Association of Multicultural Affairs in Transplantation (AMAT) and serves as the 2022 national conference chairperson.

 He has received numerous national and community awards for his work in promoting organ and tissue donation. He served as past president of the Stamford Chapter of the NAACP and is currently a member of the Bridgeport, Stamford and New Haven Chapters. Mr. Brevard is also a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. and serves as one of the graduate mentors for college campuses throughout CT.
