Local Black Business Owner Named Goldman Sachs Program Business Advisor
Denise Kaigler Advising Black-Owned Businesses in the Institution’s One Million Black Women: Black in Business Program

Quincy, MA., March 31, 2025 – Goldman Sachs, a leading global financial institution
headquartered in New York, New York, has tapped local business owner and former corporate
executive Denise Kaigler to serve as a Business Advisor (BA) for its One Million Black Women:
Black in Business program (OMBW:BIB). Kaigler is among the 30 “Cohort 7” BAs selected to
advise more than 300 Black women sole proprietors, known as Goldman Sachs scholars, from
around the country.

Kaigler, a former executive at Reebok, adidas Group, Nintendo, and Boston Scientific, is the
founder and principal of MDK Brand Management, based in Quincy, MA. She provides business
and brand strategy support to organizations headed by underrepresented leaders, and
executive and leadership coaching to underrepresented professionals. “Being selected by
Goldman Sachs to coach ten Black-women business owners is an honor and reflects my longstanding commitment to supporting underrepresented communities,” said Kaigler. “My Goldman
Sachs scholars are eager to learn and execute strategies that put them in a stronger position to
grow their businesses. I am thrilled to guide them on that journey.”

Despite a high rate of Black women starting businesses, data show that only about 3% of these
businesses survive beyond five years, making the Goldman Sachs OMBW: BIB program a
critical resource.

“I am excited to be part of this year’s OMBW: Black in Business cohort, with Denise as my
Business Advisor. After five years running Black Tech Pipeline as a solo founder, I’m eager to
finally receive formal guidance on the key areas of running and scaling a successful business –
learning directly from experts and mentors I haven’t had access to until now,” said Pariss
Chandler, CEO, Black Tech Pipeline. “I’m especially looking forward to working with Denise, who
has decades of business experience and happens to be based just a town over from me, which
makes this experience even more meaningful.”

The Goldman Sachs One Million Black Women is a $10 billion investment commitment with
$100 million in philanthropic capital to drive economic opportunity for one million Black women
by 2030. One Million Black Women is a first-of-its-kind comprehensive investment focused on
key moments in Black women’s lives from early childhood through retirement, increasing
opportunity where investment could make all the difference. To date, One Million Black Women
has deployed nearly $3 billion in investment capital and $39.4 million in philanthropic capital,
laying the groundwork to impact the lives of over 300,000 Black women.
